Frequently Asked Questions
|
| |
What is the difference between GNHRC FUE & STRIP Procedures? |
| |
1.Follicular Unit Removal (FUE) - donor areas are harvested using specialized Instruments of 1 mm or less in diameter. No stitches used in Donor Areas.
2. Strip Removal Procedures - donor areas are harvested by extracting single or small mini strips. The donor site is cosmetically repaired using a special repair procedure involving easily concealed small dissolving stitches.
|
| |
Does the procedure work? |
| |
GNHRC hair transplantation really works. It redistributes your own donor hair, which has been genetically programmed to grow for your lifetime, into thinning or hairless areas - the results of inherited male pattern hair loss.
|
| |
How many hairs can be transplanted during a single procedure session? |
| |
From 1000 to 6000 hairs can be relocated in a normal session at GNHRC.
|
| |
How long does a procedure take? |
| |
The actual procedure of transplantation takes approximately 3 hours or more. Once transplanted, results can be subject to individual variation. Some patients experience hair growth from day one while others experience a resting phase. During this time the hair remains dormant for a few weeks before growing normally again. Most patients will see hair growth by two months.
|
| |
Will I need time off work? |
| |
This depends on your own individual circumstances. While you should feel fine following your procedure some patients do prefer to take a few days off.
|
| |
Is the procedure painful? |
| |
There is very little pain during the procedure as your skin is numbed with local anesthetic beforehand. No sedation is necessary. Following surgery there can be some mild discomfort for a short period.
|
| |
Am I a good candidate for hair transplantation? |
| |
A personal consultation at GNHRC will determine your suitability. There is no cost or obligation. Immediate consultations are available, no waiting. Same day consultation & treatments are also available.
|
| |
Is there any permanent scarring? |
| |
Modern follicular micro units result in natural looking hair transplants with no visible scarring. GNHRC’s careful placement of hair will give you modern natural looking "invisible" hair restoration.
|
| |
Is the procedure expensive? |
| |
Initial cost is easily outweighed by the benefits of having your own hair growing again. No expensive medications or drugs are needed after treatment.
|
| |
Is it possible to receive hair from another donor? |
| |
This is a common question but the answer is NO, hair from another person is not suitable for hair transplant surgery; even if that person is related to you or is of the same blood type.
